This Saturday, May 12th…all across the country, the letter carriers and the post office will be going door to door doing business as usual, and much more…
This Saturday, they’ll be collecting donations from mailboxes coast to coast to help struggling families in need get some food in their otherwise bare cupboards.
The face of hunger is more familiar than people think, and though it’s something no one really talks about with their friends and neighbors, it’s everywhere. 50 million Americans don’t know where their next meal is coming from and in a country of plenty like ours, that’s too many. It’s that young family right down the street from you that works 3 jobs to make sure the rent is paid and the lights stay on…it’s that guy that got laid off just before Christmas last year whose savings has been gone for months, and it’s your friend who’s been spending every dime to keep up with enormous medical bills with little left over for groceries.
You can help. We can all help.
With millions of other Americans coming together with the help of thousands of volunteers, we can come together to help feed millions of families in need just by putting a small bag of canned goods out for your letter carrier this Saturday for the STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE.
