Who is trashing Los Angeles and why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?

Illegal Signs

For the past few years, I have seen seasonal business signs go up on utility poles and at freeway on and off ramps throughout the Sherman Oaks, Encino, Tarzana and Woodland Hills. This being the summer, we have a return of Swim Lessons. I have also seen a return of EncinoSingles.org and TarzanaSingles.org. A new ad is for 6v6 Soccer League at Calabasas High School. Dozens of these signs now illegally placed on public property throughout the area and nothing is being done to stop it.

At a recent Sherman Oaks Homeowners meeting, Councilman Dennis Zine said the signs are illegal. He said that while the city has a group of public works employees to remove the signs and cite the person posting the signs, we as private citizens should take the signs down because the city employees authorized to enforce the sign ordinance are stretched very thin. So what is a frustrated electorate to do about the commercial trashing of our neighborhoods?
