No Budget - No Pay Check

Did you vote for Prop 25? If you did you know why legislators are not getting paid. The Democrat majority passed a phony budget and state controller, John Chiang denied ALL legislators their paychecks. Is the controller’s move unfair or draconian? Possible, but he’s charged with following the law we approved last November. The legislators need to pass a budget with within the definition of the law or continue to suffer the legal consequences.

LA’s debate about red light cameras that should have taken place before the cameras were installed. Now, if you get a ticket and pay it Richard Alarcon and those who support the cameras says thanks. For those who ignored the ticket you have champions like Paul Koretz and Dennis Zine who want the cameras removed because state law does not allow the city to enforce the fines. While they did not have the necessary votes to end the program they did vote to extend the yellow light times in order to avoid more accidents.

Assembly Bill 350, the so called “Displaced Janitor Opportunity Act” by Jose Soloria – D of Anaheim protects low skilled workers like janitors, gardeners, security guards and food workers by requiring a successor maintenance company to employing the workers for 90 days following a property owner’s decision to fire their original employer. It’s bad for property owners and contactors. Business groups, including the United Chambers of Commerce of Sherman Oaks voted unanimously to oppose the bill as antibusiness.
