Rick Caruso spoke to several of the Valley’s best known business people at the recent United Chambers of Commerce, Small Business Awards breakfast held at the Marriott, Woodland Hills. Caruso was personable and comfortable with his role as unannounced candidate for LA Mayor. He has great experience serving on 2 commissions overseeing large and complex city departments. Based in the response of the attendees it seems Caruso is the kind of mayor that Valley business leaders have been looking for.

I want to know about your neighborhood's problems.  Volunteers are going to be mobalized for one day cleanup projects. What work volunteers can’t complete we will point out to city departments. The 405 Closure Is the 1984 Olympics All Over Again

Many Angelenos remember the hype that preceded the 1984 Olympics about traffic and grid lock. The predictions were so dire that people reduced their driving and the nightmare never materialized. The pending closure of the 405 over the weekend beginning July 15 to 18, will likely be dealt with the same way. Stay home or go out of town but don’t plan on going to West LA. Make the weekend a three day affair, including Monday. It will take a while for traffic to get back to normal.
