Taxi Firm Offers Free Rides to the Polls Election Day

Need a lift to vote? Yellow Cab's got your fare Tuesday for the Los Angeles area.

Vowing to ensure that transportation to vote in Tuesday's election is not an issue, Yellow Cab Co. and four affiliates are offering free rides to Los Angeles County voting locations.

Voters wanting a free ride to their polling place should call the Yellow Cab Co. at 800-808-7293, have their polling location and address ready to state, and tell the operator the code "LA Vote."

The cabs will run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday—the same hours the polls are open.

“We understand the importance of participating in the election process and are going the extra mile to make it a little easier for people to vote,” said William Rouse, General Manager of the fleets, and new President of the TLPA (Taxicab, Limousine, and Paratransit Association), said in a press announcement. “Free rides to the polls are Yellow Cab’s way of giving back to the community and helping people have their voices heard.”

Yellow Cab's "sister fleets" include United Checker Cab, South Bay Yellow Cab, Long Beach Yellow Cab, Fiesta Taxi, and 1-800-TaxiCab.
