Official Coldwater Canyon Avenue Closure Update: 5 of 11 Pieces Are Linked

Disinfection of pipes is done.

LADWP Trunk Line Construction crews are currently working between Ventura Boulevard and Avenida Del Sol constructing the City Trunk Line South Unit 5. To safety and expeditiously connect the new City Trunk Line, a 60-inch diameter welded steel pipe, to replace approximately 2,600 feet of 99-year old, 62-inch diameter riveted steel pipe, LADWP began implementing the street closure on Coldwater Canyon Boulevard between Ventura Boulevard to Mulholland Drive on March 23, 2013.

Street closure hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

To make the connection to remove the 2,600 feet of pipe to put the new pipeline in service, the LADWP will complete three separate connections: the first just north of Avenida Del Sol, the second just south of Dickens Street, and the third to connect the two sections of new pipeline together at Van Nord Avenue
