Chabad House Divides Sherman Oaks Residents

Construction of Chabad House in Sherman Oaks continues to rankle residents on both sides of the controversial issue.
It is a discussion that has polarized residents for many months, a large amount of whom feel the proposed 12,000-square-foot structure is too immense for the primarily residential neighborhood.
Others insist that the resistance to this development is simply thinly-veiled anti-Semitism.

Currently, construction has been "virtually halted," according to the Los Angeles Times.
But Chabad’s attorney, Benjamin Reznik, said this is only a temporary postponement, stating that the city will easily make findings that will allow construction to resume by August.
