Detectives Investigate 2 Armed Robberies

Two robberies appear to have been committed by the same armed gunman. Police have a rough description of the suspect.

This advisory was issued by Van Nuys Division Detectives.

Van Nuys Detectives are investigating two robberies that may have been committed by the same suspect.  On 4-4-12, a male white 5'10'', 150, 30-35 entered a strip mall business in the Van Nuys are and he used a gun to rob the location of cash.

 The suspect wore a long sleeve shirt and he covered his face before entering the store.  On 4-5-12, a male white 5'10'', 160, 25 wearing a long sleeve shirt and a mask entered  another strip mall business in the Sherman Oaks area and he used a gun to rob the location of cash.  Again the suspect fled on foot and no vehicle has been seen in either crime.

The LAPD and Van Nuys Detectives are asking the local business and community members to be alert for this suspect.  The business members are being asked to ensure that their security systems are functioning properly.This a reminder to check that all alarms, cameras and phone systems are in working order. Also,"If you see something say something. Please look out for your fellow business partners and immediately report any suspicious activities to police.
