Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Beverly Glen Blvd.

At least five vehicles collide near Mulholland Drive.

Several vehicles collided Monday morning on an apparently icy road in the Sherman Oaks area, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

The accident was reported about 7:15 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Beverly Glen Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Beverly Glen Boulevard was closed between Ventura Boulevard and Mulholland Drive while crews worked to clear the scene, Humphrey said. Beverly Glen will stay closed until further notice. Patch will update this story as more information is available.

Why weren't traffic controllers called to divert traffic at Ventura and Van Nuys and Beverly Glen, Stansbury, Valley Vista, etc? The entire neighborhood was gridlocked and when I was turned back at 8:30am, cars were still driving toward it. This happened at 7:15am per your report, why not radio a police car or three to warn people before they got trapped in the canyon?

There never seems to be anyone diverting traffic either way on Beverly Glen when there is a problem. Is it open now?

Anyone know if it's open yet?

According to Google maps, it appears open.

this always pisses me off. if the city can dispatch traffic controllers to mulholland and beverly glen (to the south), they certainly could have sent a few to ventura and van nuys, beverly glen, etc. (to the north). southbound traffic is more than 10x that of northbound Monday thru Friday mornings, yet southbound seems to always get no warning assistance/relief.
