2 Hospitalized After Violent Car Crash on Riverside Drive

A Lexus sedan collided with a Mitsubishi Montero around 10:50 p.m., the LAPD says.

Two people were being treated Tuesday for injuries they suffered when a sedan and an SUV collided in Sherman Oaks, leaving one of the victims trapped in the wreckage for a time.

They were injured when a Lexus sedan collided with a Mitsubishi Montero near the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Riverside Drive around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

The Montero, an SUV, rolled over, but it was the male driving the Lexus who was trapped in the wreckage until Los Angeles city firefighters extricated him, a news photographer reported from the scene. He and the driver of the Montero, a female, were both transported to a hospital.
