SONC Committees to Discuss Sidewalk Repairs

The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council Government Affairs and Neighborhood Services Committees will hold a special meeting regarding sidewalk repairs on Thursday.

A joint meeting of the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council’s Government Affairs and Neighborhood Services Committees will be held on Thursday to discuss what position the SONC will take on a proposal before the City Council to shift the cost of, and liability for, sidewalk repairs due to tree root damage back to individual property owners.

Thursday's meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Westfield Fashion Square Mall Community room.

"This is an important issue for residents in Sherman Oaks as the area has many miles of sidewalks in need of repair and the cost to individual property owners could be in the thousands of dollars," read a statement from SONC.
