Veterans' Benefits and Home Care

Without a solid retirement plan, which is not uncommon for many Elderly and Senior individuals, home care and other costs of daily living can become impossible to pay for without long term insurance, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, or other means.

Elderly and Senior U.S. Veterans who are low-income, have provided at least 90 days of active duty service with at least one day during a wartime period, and are at least 65 years old may be eligible for some monetary benefits from the Veteran Administration.

The VA provides Veterans' Pension for low-income veterans and Aid & Attendance for veterans who require a caregiver to retain their independence at home.

Veterans' Pension applicants must have a household income that doesn't exceed the Maximum Annual Pension Rate set by Congress and Aid & Attendance applicants must submit evidence to the VA that proves that living at home without a caregiver would be detrimental to their overall well-being because of health issues or chronic illness.

If you're an Elderly or Senior Veteran who needs home care and think that you might be eligible for VA Benefits, A-1 Home Care may be able to help you with both needs.

Our case managers can help you determine income eligibility for Veterans' Pension, apply online, and determine what information to include in an evidence report for the Aid & Attendance Benefit.

Qualifying for Veterans' Benefits can be incredibly beneficial for helping with some of the expenses of daily living or home care services.
