Frankly the idea of reelecting Carmen Trutanich is ludicrous in the extreme. He wasted no time in…Read More going back on his promise not to use the City Attorney's office as a political springboard to the DA's office, and even had the audacity to try to claim that his promise was not legally binding, so he could ignore it. Fortunately, voters did not see things Trutanich's way, and he suffered a humiliating defeat last year.
His lackluster performance in the March primary, where 70% of voters rejected him, suggests that voters have not forgotten that now infamous LA Times headline "Carmen 'I am a Liar' Trutanich," in which Trutanich was taken to task not only for breaking his promise to voters, but for trying to welch on his other promise to pay $100k from personal funds to LA's Best After School Program.
There's a sign hanging on Trutanich's wall. It reads "The strong do as they will, the weak do as they must." It must be his motto, mantra and credo, because it very accurately describes the way Trutanich has blundered, blustered and bullied his way through the past 4 years. It also explains why he has been called a bully and a thug on numerous occasions.
LA needs a City Attorney who is a leader not a liar, and a thinker not a thug. Vote Mike Feuer and lets start solving problems in LA, instead of creating them.
