These statistics, while moving in the right directiont, are hardly anything to get too excitedRead More about. So much more needs to be done at the secondary & high school levels to manifest higher retention rates.

think it is great that Kate Uptown cannot attend the prom. While the teenager action is cute, theRead More reality remains that he's a teenager and he should go to the prom with someone his own age. Kate is a 20 year old, and she does not need to involve herself with a minor. Whoever her manager maybe, they have given her some great advise. What does she really know about the teenager and lets suppose she offered him a innocent kiss on prom night.....Can you imagine how this story maybe twisted. 17 year old and an adult....If he was 18 year old then you would not have to worry about that issue but its one that must be mentioned.

I have a daughter who graduated from Viewpoint and a son who was thriving there until we removed himRead More from the school at the end of his 5th grade year. My son was continually being harassed and threatened for his Christian faith. I spoke to the head of the Lower School, Claudia Antoine, who dismissed my concerns as "boys being boys". The harassment continued to the point where my son, a black belt in karate then, was worried that if he had to fight back he might hurt someone. He was being cornered in the boys bathroom and he told me that the boys, claiming to be members of "Satan's Army", were saying they were going to kill him. The fact that things had escalated and my concern for my son getting into an actual physical confrontation caused me to again take my concerns to Mrs. Antoine. I also asked to meet with the head of the school, Dr. Dworkoski. Mrs. Antoine and Mr. Paul Rosenbaum (Dr. Dwokoski couldn't make time to meet with us and sent Paul instead) met with me and my husband. ....See continued in next post....

Mrs. Antoine again dismissed the actions as juvenile behavior and also said that my son brought theRead More harassment on himself because is was popular and confident and well-liked. She said that the boys who were harassing him resented him and had figured out that attacking his faith was how they could get to him. I asked to see a copy of the school's policy on harassment and Mr. Rosenbaum laughed at me and said that he couldn't possibly make time to find it for me. He was quite annoyed that he was called into this meeting in the first place and spent most of his time rolling his eyes and checking his watch. Mrs. Antoine also made the comment "I bet you wish you hadn't taught your son karate now". We were frustrated with the lack of concern and dismissal of the harassment and immediately removed our son from the school.
