DUI checkpoint.

No, I despise drunk drivers but we need to appoint judges that will enforce existing laws. How manyRead More times have we heard of a drunk driver killing someone only to find out they had a dozen priors but were out among us? As for the airheads that want to go after corporations that are making legal products... just another typical liberal evasion of personal responsibility. We already provide for the prosecution of those who continue to serve patrons beyond the point of intoxication.

Absolutely. And, as far as I am concerned, if so many folks take the civil route, going after theRead More deep pockets of third parties, then ABI (and the corportation which makes whatever the DUI driver was drinking) should also be civilly liable.

I'm all for it...

Great senior lead. Did a great job in Van Nuys, No of Sherman Way in my ex hood. We don't haveRead More senior leads in SW Florida. Not needed.

Thanks for the update, Scott. Suzanne, you and everyone can see a full interactive crime chartRead More anytime from here: http://projects.latimes.com/mapping-la/neighborhoods/neighborhood/sherman-oaks/crime/?q=Sherman+Oaks%2C+CA+91403%2C+USA&lat=34.1423899&lng=-118.4571974&g=Geocodify

FYI- For Sherman Oaks south, LAPD Officer Ron Carter has retired. A replacement is in the works butRead More no one has been assigned yet. The phone and email are still correct and a person should answer. Also EVERY month there is a Neighborhood Watch meeting for Block Captains in Sherman Oaks/ Van Nuys division. Both LAPD SLO Officers for Sherman Oaks attend the meeting informing NW BC's about the crime occurring in Sherman Oaks and ways to help stop it. Held on the LAST Thursday of every month at the "Sunkist" building, 6:30pm on the west side of the building in the cafeteria.

There are more letters on the map then in the chart (including something near my house that I'd likeRead More to know more about)??

Since I commute the 405 daily ( M - F) I feel the following comment is deserved: I AM NOTRead More IMPRESSED. I am over the BS, the year extension, the frickin traffic and the lying full of crap elected people. You all suck!!!!
Sharon April 3, 2013 at 06:24 pm
I'm on the 405 for almost 4 hours everyday. You can almost be sure that if a car has slowed down soRead More that there is a huge distance between it and the car in front, that person is texting. Those idiots add to the irregular flow of traffic - get off the freeway!!!

My partner is a Temporary Judge who gets many cell cases when he is on the bench. If you do not haveRead More your phone records to show that you are innocent and not on the line when stopped by police then you had better assume that you will be found guilty.

Thank you so much for reportim g what happened to my baby brother. He was a. Amazing man. I canRead More honestly say that I am so angry at the men who only thought of themselves and not the dozens of I nocent people around them. Todd will never know what it is like to be a father, to grow old with his lovely wife or a million other things due to the immature behaviors of two grown men. May God forgive them because right now we can't.
M. Oberhaus April 17, 2013 at 01:44 pm
I am the mother of one of Todd's closest friends. Todd was an exceptional 35 year old, who was justRead More married last November. My son lives in St. Louis, so Todd has touched many hearts across the country. He was the kind of person who truly did leave footprints on your heart. He and my son used to travel to see each other when possible and over the years, my son became a part of Todd's family as a second family. We all loved Todd a lot. I am touched by so many wonderful people in Sherman Oaks, who would take the time to write accounts of the accident so we know exactly what happened and who care enough to put up a memorial for him. I am grateful that Todd died immedicately and that he didn't suffer at all. There are so many people who were close to Todd and we are having so many mixed emotions and having a hard time with Todd's death. We are very angry with the people who created the situation that killed Todd. We can just hope that the courts out there will charge them with an appropiate punishment so that they never forget how their actions hurt so many people. Todd's body was flown back to Kansas to be buried with his father who died a few years ago. This was Todd's home town and where all his family still resides. I was very disappointed that I couldn't find anything in the papers about this until J.Jacobs sent this to me. I just want to thank everyone who cared enough to leave comments and contribute to the memorial. It means so much to us. God Bless you all!
