15 Valley Schools Get Solar-Paneled Carports

In an effort to harness the ample and intense solar power available year long in the Valley to power our schools, the LAUSD, as reported recently, is installing some 15 carports at Valley schools which are equipped with solar panels. 

As school districts around the Southland look to lessening their electricity bills, the installation of solar-paneled carports makes more sense. 

The LAUSD, as reported in today's Daily News, launched a solar-power initiative in 2009, with the goal of installing 60 solar projects districtwide, including 26 in the Valley.
