Special Olympics Athletes Run Torch Through Sherman Oaks

The Van Nuys Division of the LAPD will be working on a leg of the Special Olympics Torch run that will bring the torch through Sherman OAks on June 4.

A 3.8 mile segment of the passing of the Special Olympics torch will take place through Sherman Oaks.

It’s part of a 60-mile run through the San Fernando Valley and will include LAPD, California Highway Patrol and Burbank and Glendale police departments. There was a six-bedroom mansion in Sherman Oaks that was auctioned off earlier in the year for the Special Olympics as a record fundraiser.

The June 4 event will also include a Senior Walkr at Ventura and Kster at 4 p.m.
The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council will be asked for $2,500 for 100 shirt for the participants.
