Bird Walk at Headwaters Corner in Calabasas

People of all ages, from beginners to experts, are invited to join the 14th anniversary of the Great Backyard Bird Count on 19 acres of Mountains Restoration Trust land.  This is a free event and a great opportunity to learn bird identification and behavior. We will meet in the MRT’s Nature Center, a 1920s era cabin full of Santa Monica Mountain history, at 8:00am for breakfast snacks and coffee, then spend around 2 hours searching for birds in this oak chaparral habitat.

Scott Logan will guide this year’s MRT walk.  Scott is a frequent bird walk leader and one of the owners of Wild Wings Backyard Nature Store in Sherman Oaks.  The store carries high quality custom wild birdseed blends, bird feeders, nesting boxes, local field guides, optics and nature inspired kids toys – everything needed to explore nature in your own backyard.
