Volunteers Needed for Rain Garden at Millikan

The middle school in Sherman Oaks needs help the next two Saturdays.

Volunteer to create a Rain Garden at Millikan Middle School in Sherman Oaks on Saturdays April 13 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 pm.

Christine Kim said: "We're going to replace a perennially muddy area at campus center with a beautiful, self sustaining rain garden that uses rainwater as nourishment for native plants."

Promoting environmental design that incorporates rainwater, rather than diverts it is the future for arid regions like Los Angeles to reduce our carbon footprint.
