SOCES Lands on List of Best High Schools

The Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies is ranked the 581st best high school in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report.

The U.S. News & World Report came out with its list of best high schools on Tuesday, and the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies made its way onto the list, coming in at No. 581 nationally and No. 111 in California.

The annual list ranks schools based on student performance on standardized tests, as well as student participation in Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. 

U.S. News says it partnered with the Washington, D.C.-based American Institutes for Research in developing the ranking methodology.

In addition U.S. News awarded more than 4,850 gold, silver, and bronze medals to the top-performing schools.

SOCES, which maintains an Academic Performance Index score of 881, was awarded a Silver medal ranking by the U.S. News & World Report.
