Sherman Oaks Teen Gets Date with a Supermodel After All

How's this for landing on your feet?

Sherman Oaks teen Jake Davidson mounted an elaborate campaign to land Kate Upton of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition fame as a prom date. She turned him down.

So he ended up going out Thursday night with Danish supermodel Nina Agdal, the Swimsuit edition's 2012 Rookie of the Year.

"She's as pretty, as beautiful as it gets. She'll be the greatest looking prom date of all time," Davidson, a student at Milken Community High School in Bel-Air, told "Inside Edition" before the prom in Santa Monica.

After the prom, Agdal tweeted a black and white photo of her and Davidson and the message, "Had such a great prom night. Thank you @jakedavidson23 for being an awesome date!" Davidson produced a YouTube video earlier this year -- it registered 2.6 million views, according to the Los Angeles Daily News -- asking Upton to his prom. Upton thought about it but ultimately said her schedule wouldn't allow it.

And that was when the situation took what must have seemed like a magical turn. ``Jake was waiting to hear from Kate and when Nina heard about it, she said `If Kate can't go, I'd like to go' because she never got to go to her prom," the graduate's mother, Cheryl Davidson, told the Daily News as she followed behind her son's limo to a pre-prom event. Davidson, in remarks reported by the Daily News, made no effort to be coy about how it felt for a teenager to date a supermodel -- apparently, not as intimidating as one might expect.
"This prom has been incredible," he said at the event, the Daily News reported. ``Nina Agdal is like so down to Earth. Really cool, really nice."
