Tom LaBonge Hopes to Plant ‘THE’ Sherman Oak

When Tom LaBonge had Sherman Oaks placed in his new re-drawn district, he said he did some studying on the history of Sherman Oaks.

“I wanted to find THE Sherman Oak, and wondered where it was,” quipped LaBonge at a recent Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council meeting.

Finding none, he said he will try to find the funding to plant a tree that could be the gateway to Sherman Oaks. He has located a spot on Beverly Glen at Mulholland Drive on the north side. There is an undeveloped traffic island on the north side right where you hit the hill going into the San Fernando Valley, LaBonge said.

“That’s where the Sherman Oak will be,” LaBonge said. (See the video.) “Sherman Oaks is one of the great neighborhoods in the city.”
