“The problem is that every weekday, 600,000 cars travel between the Valley and West LA carrying one of every seven people in LA. Every one of these cars passes through Sherman Oaks; there is virtually no public transportation,” said Ron Ziff, SONC Land Use Chair.

“The result is a three hour traffic jam every morning that fills every major road and many residential streets. Residents have trouble getting out of their own driveways,” said Jill Banks Barad, SONC President.

The neighborhood council will be addressing this problem and the short term and long term plans and solutions for Sherman Oaks. “This is the first time ever that these representatives of all the major transportation agencies will be together in one place,” Barad noted.

Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council meetings are open to the public. Stakeholders are invited to attend and express their concerns.
