Sherman Oaks Homeowners Hosts Toy Giveaway with Community Leaders

Guests include Wendy Greuel, Zev Yaroslavsky, Tom LaBonge, Eric Garcetti, Jan Perry and many more.

The Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association sponsored its 14th Annual Toy Drive at Gelson's Market in Sherman Oaks On Sunday. It was an overwhelming success thanks to the outpouring of the community and our many politicians who all brought unwrapped toys for the kids. The toys received filled two huge vans from the Department of Children & Family Services.

They will distribute these toys to needy children at a party on Dec 16. These are probably the only toys & gifts the children receive at all. Toys for them can still be dropped off at Goodway Printing,  15121 Ventura  Blvd.

Santa was there to greet folks and Gelson's provided delicious refreshments throughout the event and SOHA thanked them for allowing this very special event in their parking lot.

Many police and firefighters were present and the neighbors enjoyed chatting with them as well as the many elected officials and their representatives.

In attendance was County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and his wife Barbara, Assemblymember Mike Feuer,  City Council Member Tom LaBonge and his field deputy, Alice Roth, City  Attorney Carmen Trutanich, City Controller Wendy Greuel, City Council Members Eric Garcetti and Jan Perry, a representative from the Mayor’s office, as well as the  entire board of SOHA.

Plus neighborhood prosecutor Tamar Galatzan, Joan Pelico, District Director for Councilman Paul Koretz CD5, LAPD Capt Ivan Minsel and all the Senior Lead Officers and traffic officers. Also, SOHA  thanks Captain Jaime Moore and her firemen from Firestation 88 for bringing  their firetrucks for the kids to enjoy.
