Residents Endorse City Salary Freeze

The survey of Los Angeles residents indicates the public wants the city to freeze the salaries of public employees, but the public does not want to see a reduction in police or fire services.

The annual survey of Los Angeles residents, which polled nearly 10,000 people, indicated the public would like to see city salaries frozen, at least until the economy improves according to Rick Orlov's column in the Los Angeles Daily News.

The survey also showed that residents don't want to see a reduction in services from police and fire departments.

There was also support for a freeze on City Council member's budgets and the public would like to see the city generally hold the line on spending.
