Paul Koretz Issues Carmageddon Ideas

Carmageddon II – this weekend!

Closure of a 10 mile stretch of the 405 Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass will occur this upcoming September 29-30 weekend. This is part of the Sepulveda Pass Improvement Project, and it’s goal is truly momentous – crucial transportation improvements will be achieved – but the cost in aggravation and complications may be dear, unless we plan, prepare and proceed as successfully as we did in 2011.  During Carmageddon I, people wisely stayed away from the 405 and mostly out of their cars, and enjoyed their home neighborhoods and the local shops, recreation and entertainment, so that a feared traffic nightmare was averted.  Hopefully, the same positive outcome will occur this time around, as well.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to become as knowledgeable as possible aboutCarmageddon II, and to prepare accordingly.   Ramp closures will begin to happen on Friday night (September 28), with ramps and connectors scheduled to reopen by 6:00am Monday morning (October 1).  Progress reports and any updates will be made available by Metro on their website, so for the most timely and up-to-date info on Carmageddon II please visit Metro online atwww.metro.net/405twitter.com/I-1405, and facebook.com/405project.

Where was this?

I was stopped coming out of the neighborhood by police. They said they were looking for a whiteRead More male, 5'10 with a tan shirt on who they were chasing in a car. He apparently dumped the car near Greenleaf and Davana Terrace and fled in the neighborhood. Not sure what he did or if they caught him.

I have photos of the 4 or 5 armed officers with their dog in tow in my backyard. For some reason IRead More couldn't upload the pix. The streets were blocked off by lapd cars south of Ventura, at Hazeltine and Stansbury avenue. They made us stay inside for At least two hours. We never heard if they caught the tan shirt man or not. We felt well protected however
