Mayor Plans to Staff Van Nuys Office as 'One-Stop' Shop

Mayor Eric Garcetti announced today the Van Nuys satellite City Hall office will be staffed with a specialist who will answer constituents' questions about city services.

The staffer will give assistance to constituents during regular business hours on weekdays, with the exception of Mondays.

"I want city government to be focused on the basics, and that starts with making it more convenient for people to get the help they need," Garcetti said. "Solving people's problems is my job, and I want to be as hands-on as possible."

The mayor's office delivered the news as he met with constituents at the Van Nuys satellite city hall at 14410 Sylvan St. as part of his regular "office hours."

In July, Garcetti set up a help desk at City Hall downtown as a "one- stop service center" where constituents can get a variety of city-related questions answered.
