City Council President Eric Garcetti to be guest speaker at monthly meeting of Sherman Oaks Home Owners Association.

Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti is scheduled to speak at the monthly meeting of the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association on Wednesday night.

Garcetti is expected to talk about the city's budget deficit, and whether the shortfall would be reduced by cutting city services or city employees' salaries and benefits. There will also be a question-and-answer period, during which Garcetti might be asked to address rumors in political circles that he will be a candidate for mayor in 2013.

The session is to begin at 7:15 p.m., following a social hour at 6:15 p.m., at which food from Casa Vega will be served. The Riveroaks Chorus, a women's barbershop chorus, will provide entertainment during the social hour.
