Carmen Trutanich Suspends City Attorney Reelection Campaign

Trutanich's decision follows the death of his mother Saturday in a San Pedro hospital.

Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich announced Saturday the suspension of activities for his reelection campaign.

The announcement came the same day Trutanich's mother Esther Trutanich died Saturday in a San Pedro hospital at the age of 91, according to the L.A. Times. She had been receiving treatment for pneumonia.

Trutanich faces three challengers, former lawmaker Mike Feuer and private attorneys Greg Smith and Noel Weiss, in the primary on Tuesday.
