405 Northbound Lane Closures Planned as Construction Continues

Because of work on the Mulholland Bridge, the 405 lanes will close for two nights beginning Wednesday.

The contractor is scheduled to construct a falsework structure to facilitate the reconstruction of the Mulholland Bridge. A bridge falsework structure will get erected temporarily at the freeway median to provide support during the reconstruction of the Mulholland Bridge.

A full directional northbound freeway closure is scheduled for two nights beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The northbound I-405 freeway will be closed from the Getty Center Dr. ramps to the 101 freeway during the late night hours, weather permitting. Each night, ramps within the freeway closure limits may begin to close as early as 7:00 pm and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10:00 pm, leading up to the full directional freeway closure between the hours of 12:00 am, midnight, to 5:00 am.

After the freeway closure the contractor will continue to construct the bridge falsework structure for about a month, which may require freeway lane closures and additional full directional freeway closures.

When: The full northbound directional freeway closure is anticipated to begin Wednesday, February, 1, 2012, and last for two nights, weather permitting. Each night, ramps within the freeway closures limits may begin to close as early as 7:00 pm and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10:00 pm, leading up to the full directional northbound freeway closure between the hours of 12:00 am, midnight, to 5:00 am.

Where: A full directional northbound freeway closure between the Getty Center Dr. ramps to the 101 freeway.

What to expect: Sepulveda Blvd. will remain open during the nights of the full directional freeway closures and will be used as a detour route. Detour maps are available at www.metro.net/405.
