A Pacoima woman was in critical condition in a Burbank hospital with stab wounds, a police spokesman said Satruday.
A Burbank resident who assisted the victim contacted police at about 2 a.m. Saturday, and they responded to the 200 block of North Griffith Park Drive, Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.
The woman, who suffered life-threatening wounds from the stabbing, was treated at the scene by Burbank Fire Department paramedics and transported to a hospital, Ryburn said.
Detectives investigating the stabbing found preliminary information indicating the victim and suspect were acquaintances, he said.

One motorcyclist was killed and a second one injured while racing down a street in Van Nuys Saturday, a police sergeant said.
The crash was on Woodley Avenue near Victory Boulevard at about 3:30 a.m., said Los Angeles police Sgt. David Delgado of the Valley Traffic Division.
One motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the other one to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Delgado said.
The police sergeant said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Police said Woodley Avenue, between Burbank and Victory boulevards, was to be closed until noon to allow a safe work place for the crash investigation.
