Vehicle Crashes into Tree in Sherman Oaks

One adult and two children had to be extricated from the wreckage.

One adult and two children had to be pulled from a Toyota Camry that crashed into a tree on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Sherman Oaks, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The solo-vehicle crash near Victory Boulevard was reported at 4:56 p.m., said LAFD spokesman Erik Scott.

The vehicle's occupants were hospitalized with unknown injuries, he said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and a cause was under investigation, said Officer Peter Bishop of the California Highway Patrol.

The number 3, 4 and 5 lanes had to be closed, but were open again as of 6:15 p.m.
