Police Blotter: Robberies, Burglaries and Thefts

Here's a roundup of reported crimes in Sherman Oaks from October 5-8.

The following crimes in Sherman Oaks were reported to the Los Angeles Police Department from Oct. 5-8, as compiled by the Los Angeles Times.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call 877-LAPD-247. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call 800-222-TIPS.

Oct. 5

A robbery was reported at 1:45 a.m. in the 13900 block of Ventura Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 10:53 a.m. in the 14000 block of Riverside Drive.

A theft was reported at 12:25 p.m. in the 13700 block of Riverside Drive.

A theft was reported at 4:25 p.m. in the 14700 block of Ventura Boulevard.

Oct. 6

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 10 a.m. in the 15300 block of Ventura Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 1:50 p.m. in the 14400 block of Burbank Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 2 p.m. in the 4500 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 3:45 p.m. in the 4500 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 4 p.m. in the 4500 block of Mammoth Avenue.

A burglary was reported at 4:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Camino De La Cumbre.

A theft was reported at 5:30 p.m. in the 14200 block of Moorpark Street.

A theft was reported at 8 p.m. in the 15000 block of Valley Vista Boulevard.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 9:30 p.m. in the 14400 block of Dunbar Place.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 11 p.m. in the 14500 block of Deervale Place.

Oct. 7

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 2 p.m. at Hazeltine Street and Riverside Drive.

A robbery was reported at 3 p.m. at Coldwater Canyon and Chandle.

A theft was reported at 7:45 p.m. in the 13400 block of Riverside Drive.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 9 p.m. in the 14600 block of Magnolia Boulevard.

Oct. 8

A burglary was reported at 2 a.m. in the 4900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 10:05 a.m. in the 15300 block of Ventura Boulevard.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 4:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 6 p.m. in the 4900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.

A theft was reported at 8:12 p.m. in the 14000 block of Riverside Drive.

I was stopped coming out of the neighborhood by police. They said they were looking for a whiteRead More male, 5'10 with a tan shirt on who they were chasing in a car. He apparently dumped the car near Greenleaf and Davana Terrace and fled in the neighborhood. Not sure what he did or if they caught him.

I have photos of the 4 or 5 armed officers with their dog in tow in my backyard. For some reason IRead More couldn't upload the pix. The streets were blocked off by lapd cars south of Ventura, at Hazeltine and Stansbury avenue. They made us stay inside for At least two hours. We never heard if they caught the tan shirt man or not. We felt well protected however
