Police in the Valley are urging pharmacies to lock up all medications in the wake of a rash of pharmacy burglaries during the night time.

"Three pharmacies along Ventura Boulevard were burglarized along with several others," said Detective Paul Ervin of the Los Angeles Police Department.

"In one case on Ventura, the rear glass door was smashed with a sledge hammer, another burglary involved removal of a glass door and locks cut on the security gate. In a third case, the burglars tunneled through a wall," added Ervin.
