Man Crashes Car Through Restaurant Wall
No one was injured, but it could have been worse, police say.
A man drove a passenger car into an El Pollo Loco restaurant in Van Nuys after putting the transmission in drive when he meant to put it in reverse, police said today.
The crash occurred in the 6600 block of Van Nuys Boulevard around 6 p.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Randy Modrell of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.
"It was an all-glass front, so he smashed right through," Modrell said.

No one was injured. "If anyone would have been seated along the front or along the door, it would have been a different scenario," he said.
The man, in his 50s, was unlicensed, Modrell said, adding that he was cited and released at the scene and the car was turned over to its owner, the woman who was his passenger.
