Israeli Consul Visits Station 88 in Sherman Oaks, Public Ceremony Tonight

At 2:30 p.m., Israeli Consul General David Siegel will visit LAFD station 88, where a 6 p.m. ceremony is also planned, to pay tribute to first responders and victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Sherman Oaks station, whose search-and-rescue firefighters were the first in Los Angeles deployed in the wake of the attacks, is home to a 9/11 memorial fountain made with a piece of structural steel from the ruins of the twin towers and a limestone block from the Pentagon.

Station 88 is t 5101 N. Sepulveda Blvd.

The event is opened to the public.
