Fire Damages Apartment in Sherman Oaks

It takes 78 firefighters to put out the blaze at 4454 Ventura Canyon Ave., the LAFD says.

A fire burned an apartment building in Sherman Oaks today, but no one was injured, a city fire official said.

The fire was reported at 1:39 p.m. at 4454 Ventura Canyon Ave., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

With 78 firefighters on the scene, the blaze was confined to one unit on the second floor or the three-story apartment building, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
