Fire at Apartment Building Injures Man

Fire officials are looking at the cause.

Firefighters extinguished a blaze inside an apartment building in Sherman Oaks that left one man injured, according to a fire department spokesman.

The fire inside a second-floor unit of a two-story apartment building at 14314 Burbank Boulevard was reported at 5:22 a.m., said fire department spokesman Erik Scott.

The department dispatched 45 firefighters and the fire was knocked down in 13 minutes, Scott said.

One man was transported to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. His condition was not known.

There's no word yet on what started the fire.
