D.A. Mulling over Justin Bieber's Alleged Egg-Throwing Incident

A decision, however, is not expected this week.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials presented their investigation of Justin Bieber's alleged egg-throwing at a neighbor's home in Calabasas to the District Attorney's Office today for consideration of charges.

Jane Robison of the District Attorney's Office said the case was under review, but no decision on whether to file charges would be made this week.

On Jan. 14, roughly one dozen sheriff's investigators descended on the 19- year-old Bieber's home in the 25000 block of Prado Del Grandioso to follow up on a report by a neighbor that the singer had hurled eggs at his home, causing more than $20,000 in damage. The damage amount raised the case to a potential felony.

“It's a felony crime,” sheriff's Lt. Dave Thompson said at the time. “I mean, I get that it was done with eggs (and) that makes you feel that it's a lower-level crime, but a felony crime is a felony crime no matter how you commit it.”

The website TMZ posted video taken during the alleged egg-throwing, during which Bieber can be heard taunting the neighbor. Thompson told TMZ today he was asking prosecutors to file a felony charge against the singer.

Bieber is already facing legal troubles in Florida, where he was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. Last Friday, Bieber surrendered to authorities in Toronto, where he is charged with assault for allegedly hitting a limousine driver in the back of the head in December.

He also made headlines after flying to New Jersey for the Super Bowl, with reports surfacing that his private plane was searched by Drug Enforcement Administration agents, who failed to find anything illegal. According to NBC News, the plane's captain was quoted in an incident report as saying he repeatedly told Bieber and other passengers aboard the flight that they  needed to stop smoking marijuana.
