A car skidded off Mulholland Drive on Friday morning and crashed about 20 feet down an embankment, but the two people in the car were able to escape without major injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The car went down at about 14448 W. Mulholland Drive near the Stone Canyon Overlook just west of Beverly Glen Boulevard, said LAFD spokesperson Erik Scott.
"All occupants self extricated," Scott reported. No one was seriously injured. About eight firefighters responded to the scene.
"Apparently the rain caused the driver to slide off the road and down the embankment,'' said Los Angeles police Officer Robert Kim. "Right now the car is stuck in the mud, and we are trying to get it back up on the road.''
The morning rush hour was delayed for about two hours, but the road was cleared by noon.
