Buckley School Will Have to Limit Crowd Size at Memorial

Teen killed in skateboard accident will be honored in ceremony at Buckley School this weekend. But there's not enough room for everyone who wants to attend.

Buckley School says it will have to limit the size of the crowd that is planning to attend the Memorial for Jordan Weiss on Saturday. "There just isn't enough room to accomodate all the people who want to come," said a school official.

Attendance will be limited to friends, family, and students at the school. Parking in the neighborhood next to the school is not allowed, and there is a limited number of spaces available on Buckley's property. People are being encouraged to car pool.

17 year old Jordan Weiss was killed last week when he fell off his skateboard and hit his head on the pavement while speeding down a steep hill in Sherman Oaks.http://patch.com/A-dLHg

On Saturday Feb. 5, at 4:00 p.m., Buckley will host " a Celebration of the Life of Jordan Weiss," in the Roy E. Disney Family Pavilion.  The Weiss family wishes this memorial to be a casual celebration of Jordan's life. Students attending the memorial are requested to wear "Buckely red."

At the request of the Weiss family, the Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to honor Jordan and have his memory live on at Buckley, according to a statement from the school. As a further tribute to Jordan, the school will rename its class of 2011 Legacy Fund, the Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Jordan's family lives in Studio City, they include parents Rabia Cebeci and Philip Weiss along with brothers Jarret a Buckley sophmore, and Jack a Student at Carpenter Elementary School.
