3 Injured in Multiple-Car Crash on 405

The accident on Monday blocked traffic about 40 minutes.

Three people were injured Monday in a multi-vehicle crash that blocked all but the carpool lane of the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Sherman Oaks for about 40 minutes.

The collision was reported shortly before noon at Valley Vista Boulevard, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Paramedics treated the people for injuries described as non-life-threatening, Scott said.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

All but the carpool lane were blocked until 12:36 p.m., when three of the five southbound lanes were reopened, the CHP reported.
