4 Youths Critically Injured After Car Hits Tree on Balboa Boulevard

Fire officials are on the scene where two teens and two young adults were injured in the accident.

Four people were injured in a single-car accident after hitting a tree on Balboa Boulevard Tuesday morning, a fire department spokesman said.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey described the injured as "two teenagers and two young adults." All were males.

Two of the injured were trapped in the car wreckage for nearly half an hour at 6544 Balboa Boulevard, but they were removed by 8:25 a.m., Humphrey said.

The victims inside the car were all taken to local trauma centers, Humphrey said.

Paramedics responded to the scene shortly before 8 a.m., said Humphrey. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
