Covered Calif sends "Dem" Voter Cards!

"ABC10 in San Diego has reported that a couple contacted them after receiving a voter registration card from Covered California, and that the couple says the box marked “Democratic Party” was already checked on the form."

Why the shock?  The
California Medi-Cal Eligibilty and Covered California FAQ’s 2014 website has this curiosity:
Question 5     Where can I get information about becoming registered to vote? If you are not registered to vote where you live now and would like to apply to register to vote today please visit www.registertovote.ca.gov. Or, call 1-800-345-VOTE (8683).

Curiously "Covered California began mailing out voter signup cards to nearly 4 million enrollees last week after being threatened with a lawsuit by voting rights groups"

What lawsuit would a voting rights group "THREATEN" an insurance brokerage (which is basically what Covered California is form & function) ?

Agencies of the government are required to give voter registration details???  The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) was enacted in 1993 and took effect in 1995. Also known as the "Motor Voter" law, the NVRA requires the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and many other government agencies to provide people the opportunity to register to vote.  WHAT IS THE LOGIC? Accessibility.  The Post Office has accessibility.

They had the backing of Secretary of State Debra Bowen, who on May 15, 2013 designated the new health agency a "voter registration agency" under federal law.

How is it the DMV and Covered California which have NO REQUIREMENTS FOR CITIZENSHIP are the agencies directed to increase voter registration.  Does this seem like a formula for a) extra work  b) voter fraud  c) duplication
If you register to vote should it be because you WANT to vote, you WANT to take the effort to investigate your selections, NOT BECAUSE someone wants to (as has been proven over and over) direct masses of voters to vote for the candidate designated by the union etc.

According to a study on the effects of the NVRA of 1993:
"Some are calling for voter registration reform that would include what has been called “universal voter registration,” where the government is responsible for registering all citizens to vote unlike the system used in the United States that relies on individuals to register themselves.  Others have suggested minor changes in NVRA, like making it “opt-out” instead of “opt-in”

So there you have it - in our path to make voting no longer in-accessible (1965  Voting Rights act) we have kept going and now it seems  it is being made available to anyone to who can make an X or read an X or sign a document with an X already in place.

Too bad the person(s) who marked those voter registrations "x" alongside Democrat is unaware California has open Primary so DEMOCRATS are free to vote outside their party and select a fiscal sensible candidate from the Party with the history of fighting to emancipate Slaves...with the history of  providing the first and only Hispanic Governor born in California (a Republican) Romualdo Pacheco.
