Sherman Oaks Residents Mad about Fire Station Secrecy

The LA Weekly detailed a story of community anger in Sherman Oaks where a fire station (which they say may be an often-deafening, potentially toxic fire station) is scheduled to be built in their 1940s-built neighborhood in north Sherman Oaks.

The activists against the project include Mary Beth Schwartzenberger and Lori Lynn, are going to Carolyn Ramsay, chief of staff to Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge, who just became the representative of the district.

There is fingerpointing and blame, including toward former district rep City Council members Tony Cardenas and Paul Krekorian, and the Prop J measure that was passed in 2006.
