Beware the Rampture; Predictions of Summer Misery on the 405 Abound

As the Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project moves into its next phase, Angelenos expect a season of delays on the 405.

Friday night marked the first step of a 90-day shutdown of ramps on the 405, sparking a long season of gridlock on the 405, as reported in the Daily News.

Dubbed, as was Carmageddon, with an intentionally Biblical name, this one's being named "Rampture," with the more prosaic "Ramp Jam" also still in play.

This is the next link in a long chain of freeway closures which will impact traffic throughout the Southland, and, of course, throughout the valley. Experts predict commuters will begin to feel the effects most strongly Monday morning.
