82-Unit Senior Housing Development Underway on Vineland Ave.

A new construction project is currently underway at 4900 Vineland Ave. in North Hollywood near the "five points" intersection with Lankershim Boulevard and Camarillo Street.

The building will be a housing complex for low-income seniors and is being constructed by the Menorah Housing Foundation, which received funding from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, as well as the City of Los Angeles Housing Department, according ot the Menorah Housing Foundation's website.

The plans call for it to be an 82-unit apartment building that will serve "very low-income seniors in an active location convenient to retail shopping, neighborhood services and public transit. The site is near the City’s East Valley Multi-Purpose Senior Center and the North Hollywood Park and Recreation Center, both of which offer specialized senior programming and services," according to the Menorah Housing Foundation's website.

The Menorah Housing Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) corporation that develops and manages affordable senior apartments serving people 62 or older, who earn no greater than 50 percent of area median income. The corporation has developed and manages 1,139 apartment units in seventeen buildings around Los Angeles County. (See the attached YouTube video to learn more.)
