[The information below was taken directly from a press release issued by Metro].

The Sepulveda Blvd overpass in Sherman Oaks will be widened and retrofitted as part of the widening of the 405 freeway. The area near the Sepulveda Blvd overpass will undergo long-term traffic reconfiguration to allow for the creation of a work zone. This work is anticipated to begin in early May of 2012 and will last approximately one year.

The overpass widening work will require the following traffic changes throughout construction:

Sepulveda Blvd: The left-turn pocket onto the southbound Valley Vista on-ramp will be shortened, due to a work zone at the center of Sepulveda Blvd near the overpass.

Sepulveda Blvd will have two lanes in each direction near the overpass.

East-West Sepulveda Blvd Crosswalk: The crosswalk across Sepulveda Blvd at Fiume Walk will be eliminated.

Westside Crosswalk and Sidewalk: The crosswalk across Fiume and the sidewalk on the west side of Sepulveda Blvd (near the overpass) will be eliminated in phase 2 of construction, approximately three months after the beginning of this work.

Work will be performed during the day and night hours, with most of the noisiest activities anticipated to be performed during the day time. The southbound Valley Vista on and off-ramps will be closed occasionally from 9am
to 3pm and 7pm to 6am.  Sepulveda Blvd will undergo frequent lane closures between 9am to 3pm and 9pm to 6am.

Sepulveda Blvd is required to be fully closed intermittently during the late night
hours to perform certain work activities. Storm drain relocation work on Sepulveda Blvd will continue and will occur throughout a portion of the overpass widening work
