Requiem in C Minor by Michael Haydn

The St. Francis de Sales Choir and the Wagner Ensemble, under the direction of Jeannine Wagner, will perform their Annual All Souls Day Concert featuring Requiem in C Minor by Michael Haydn. The singers will be accompanied by orchestra and organ. In commemoration of All Souls Day, donations of $50 or more admit four and the opportunity to have two loved ones’ names recited and printed in the program (deadline Nov. 1). The concert will take place in the St. Francis de Sales Church sanctuary, renowned for its beautiful mid-century architecture and acoustic excellence. Reception will immediately follow in the St. Francis de Sales School Auditorium.

Founded in 1949, the St. Francis de Sales Choir is one of the leading Church choral groups in Southern California. Throughout the years, choir membership has been comprised of singers from the parish (several are founding members), as well as vocalists from the Los Angeles Opera, the Wagner Ensemble and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. The choir is accompanied by talented organist and multi-keyboardist Stephen Park, who has been with St. Francis de Sales since 1979.

The Wagner Ensemble was  founded by Jeannine Wagner in 1991 under the auspices of  the Roger Wagner Choral Institute. Under her spirited guidance, the Ensemble celebrates and promotes the musical legacy of her late father, the legendary Roger Wagner. The Wagner Ensemble has dazzled audiences throughout Southern  California and internationally in the performance of repertoire that includes  choral masterpieces spanning the centuries from the Renaissance to the present.
