Metro: Traffic Switches, Lane Closures to Skirball Bridge Begin Friday

Closures and lane shifts will take place this weekend as part of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvement Project.

Reconstruction work begins Friday on the Skirball Bridge, prompting several changes for commuters to know about. The work is part of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project

According to Metro, the contractor will begin to shift traffic to the north half of the Skirball Bridge beginning on the night of Friday, July 13, and ending on Sunday, July 15. Three lanes will be maintained on the bridge during reconstruction; two lanes westbound and one lane eastbound.

The bridge will be closed at night during this operation. Only one lane of traffic will be open on the bridge during the day, with a flagging operation directing traffic. The southbound Skirball on- and off-ramps will be closed throughout this operation.
